For security installers & systems integrators

Your team is installing. Your next customer is calling.

You’re pulling cable, aiming cameras, or commissioning a panel. Your HoneSmith Virtual Assistant answers the calls you can’t take—and asks about the video surveillance, intrusion alarm, or access control work your next customer needs.

Put your own numbers to it

What could those missed calls be worth?

Estimate the revenue opportunity behind the calls your team cannot take.

Example numbers—replace with your estimates.

Help choosing your numbers

Missed calls / week: Count potential installation and billable-service inquiries. Leave out spam, repeat calls, warranty work, and monitoring events.

Calls becoming paid jobs (%): Of those missed calls, estimate how many would become paid jobs if answered and followed up. Use a conservative percentage—not just your quote win rate.

Average job value ($): Use the average revenue from the installation or billable-service work these callers need—not the lifetime value of a customer.

Potential monthly revenue opportunity

$8,667

About 4.3 paid jobs per month, based on your estimates.

21.7

Monthly service base fee

Revenue opportunity—not profit or guaranteed recovered sales. Some calls may already be recovered by your team.

$499 one-time founding-client setup. Usage overages and other applicable costs are confirmed before activation.

How we calculate it

Weekly missed calls × 52 ÷ 12 × paid-job percentage × average job value. Monthly jobs are an average, not a count of guaranteed bookings. These inputs stay in your browser and are not submitted.

Your systems. Your questions. Your call flow.

The next question should fit the installation.

A camera quote needs different questions from an alarm upgrade. We configure your receptionist to follow the right intake for the work you actually sell and service.

New installation · questions shaped by the system
01Example call path

Video surveillance

IP cameras · NVR · VMS

Capture what they need to see, where they need coverage, and what is already installed.

Your receptionist can ask

  • “Are you covering indoor areas, entrances, a parking lot, or a combination?”
  • “Do you have a preference for dome, turret, bullet, or pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras—or would you like the installer’s recommendation?”
  • “Is this a new system, or are you adding cameras to an existing network video recorder (NVR) or video management system (VMS)?”

In your handoff

Coverage areas · approximate camera count · camera preferences · existing platform · project timing

02Example call path

Intrusion alarms

Wired · wireless · hybrid

Separate a new burglar-alarm inquiry from a panel replacement, expansion, or service request.

Your receptionist can ask

  • “Are you interested in a wired, wireless, or hybrid alarm system—or do you need help deciding?”
  • “Which areas need protection: doors and windows, interior motion detection, or glass-break detection?”
  • “Do you have an existing alarm panel or a preferred brand? Are you also interested in professional monitoring or app access?”

In your handoff

Property type · protection needs · panel or brand, if known · monitoring interest · installation timeframe

03Example call path

Access control

Doors · readers · credentials

Give your estimator a useful starting point for a door-access project or system expansion.

Your receptionist can ask

  • “How many doors or gates do you want to control, and is this one location or multiple sites?”
  • “Would you like cards or key fobs, mobile credentials, or a video intercom for visitors?”
  • “Are you replacing an existing access-control system or adding controlled doors for the first time?”

In your handoff

Door count · locations · credential preferences · existing system · site-survey availability

Existing customer calling?

Service calls get their own intake.

Illustrative security service technician inspecting an alarm keypad and control panel

Camera offline. NVR not recording. Keypad trouble message. Card reader issue. Capture the site, affected system, reported symptom, and when it started—then route the details to your service team using your approved priorities.

Your team decides the response. The receptionist doesn’t promise a truck roll or walk callers through disarming a system.

These are sample questions, not a fixed script. We use only your approved services and product lines. When a caller doesn’t know the equipment, we start with what they want to protect and leave the specifications to your team.

How it works

The call is answered. Your team stays in control.

01

Answer

Conditional forwarding sends only the calls you choose—missed, overflow, after-hours, or a dedicated line—to the receptionist.

02

Scope the inquiry

Your approved questions capture the property, system type, coverage needs, existing equipment, and project timing. New-install inquiries and service calls follow their own paths.

03

Route to your team

Send an installation opportunity to sales or an estimator, and an existing-system issue to service or your designated on-call contact, according to your rules.

04

Book automatically

Book qualified callers directly into approved calendar openings for discovery calls and site surveys. Booking follows your connected calendar, approved appointment types, and availability rules—not a promise of emergency dispatch or technician arrival.

Founding Client Offer

Put your missed calls in capable hands.

Get managed call coverage for your installation business at $499 per month. We map the systems you sell, the equipment you service, your territory, and who handles quotes versus service calls. You approve and test the receptionist before it takes customer calls.

Monthly service

Managed coverage, reporting, and workflow adjustments. The monthly base rate stays $499 after the initial 30-day pilot.

Included operating scope

  • Up to 300 receptionist minutes
  • Existing-number call forwarding
  • Custom video, intrusion, and access-control intake
  • Separate new-install and existing-customer service flows
  • Immediate team alerts and summaries

Security experience shapes the questions

Built with 23 years in your world.

I’m Blake, founder of HoneSmith. I bring 23 years of experience in security and enterprise asset protection. I know what it’s like to receive a call just as you’re sitting down to dinner—and how important a prompt response can be when a security system isn’t working. I’ve developed AI-enabled technology solutions for enterprise companies, and now I want to bring that experience to businesses like yours.

That experience shapes how we build your intake: a request for more camera coverage, a panel trouble message, and a card reader issue need different questions and different follow-up. We map those paths around your services, manufacturers, and team responsibilities.

HoneSmith is not designed to replace a monitoring center. Your team owns system design, technical decisions, and field response. We build the first conversation so the right person gets useful information sooner.

What the team receives

Enough context to make the callback count.

  • 01Site contact, callback number, property type, and installation address
  • 02New installation, system expansion, retrofit, or existing-customer service
  • 03Camera coverage, alarm preferences, or access-controlled doors
  • 04Existing manufacturer, recorder, or alarm panel—when the caller knows it
  • 05Project timing, reported symptoms, and the approved next step

When the data supports it

Expand beyond the phone.

If you are interested in website upgrades, local SEO, GEO and AI visibility, web chat, or follow-up automation, HoneSmith can scope those services separately after the response system is working.

Straight answers

Before you get started.

Can it ask about the cameras and alarm systems we install?

Yes. We build your intake around your approved product lines and services. That can include preferred camera styles, indoor or outdoor coverage, existing NVRs or VMS platforms, wired or wireless intrusion systems, and access-control requirements. If a caller does not know the terminology, the receptionist asks about the property and what they want to protect. Your team makes the final equipment and system-design recommendations.

How do you make it sound like our company?

During setup, we map your service area, residential and commercial work, supported manufacturers, new-install and service questions, appointment types, and escalation contacts. You approve the language and test sample calls before launch. The examples on this page illustrate a configurable intake; your final call flow reflects what your company actually offers.

Does this replace our current phone number?

No. The service uses conditional or after-hours forwarding from the business number customers already know. We confirm compatibility and test the complete call path before launch.

What can the receptionist say about a security system?

Only what you approve. It can collect facts, explain your callback process, and route the request. It does not diagnose equipment, disclose codes or passwords, remotely unlock or disarm a system, promise dispatch, or represent itself as a licensed technician or monitoring center.

Can it handle existing-customer service calls?

Yes. A camera offline, an NVR not recording, a keypad trouble message, or a card reader issue can follow a different intake from a new-install quote. The receptionist records the site, affected equipment, what the caller reports, and when it began, then follows your approved service or on-call routing. Active alarms follow your approved emergency and monitoring-center instructions.

Is there a long-term contract?

Service is $499 per month and continues month to month after the initial 30-day pilot at the same monthly base rate. We confirm final scope, usage allowances, and third-party costs in writing before activation.

A focused first step
